Brushes with Nature
a Solo Exhibition by David Carmichael
Join us at Blue Crow Gallery for Brushes with Nature, a solo exhibition by Ontario artist David Carmichael!
Inspired by the landscapes and memories of Northern Ontario, Carmichael’s paintings explore the rugged beauty of Georgian Bay, Muskoka, Algonquin and the surrounding wilderness. Through expressive brushwork, luminous colour and richly textured paint, he captures quiet moments of open water, forests, rocky shorelines and changing skies.

This workshop will explore Colour Mixing through drawing and painting Clouds and Sky. Later in the afternoon, we will translate that exploration into an 8x8-inch oil painting of clouds.

Starting with a Chalk Pastel Sky Drawing, participants will have the opportunity to sketch with chalk pastels as scaffolding for learning about oils.
• CREATIVE EXPLORATION:
Participants will be guided through an initiative colour-matching process that will lead to the final piece.

Revive favourite clothing by repairing, reusing, or adding new elements. The focus will be on basic stitches, mending, & decorative techniques.
