My work explores everyday domestic spaces through a combination of painting and textile techniques. I am drawn to familiar interiors — windows filled with plants, kitchen tables, and well-used furniture — and use these subjects to reflect on comfort, routine, and the traces of daily life.
Stitching plays a central role in my practice. Rather than using embroidery as decoration, I use thread as a way of drawing and building texture. The stitched lines add depth and movement to the painted surface, creating a tactile quality that encourages viewers to look more closely.
I am interested in how textile processes can transform ordinary scenes and bring attention to the emotional connections we have with the spaces we inhabit. The repetitive act of stitching echoes the rhythms of everyday routines and the care invested in maintaining a home.
While my compositions are rooted in painting, the addition of thread emphasizes the physical nature of the work. By combining these materials and methods, I create pieces that exist between painting and textile art, exploring how texture, memory, and place can be expressed through both image and material.
Through this approach, I connect contemporary painting with textile traditions, using stitch as a way to tell stories about lived experience and the quiet significance of everyday spaces.
