Taryn Sirove is a white settler artist and art historian based in Toronto (Tkaronto). Trained in painting and printmaking at NSCAD, she later earned a PhD in Art History (Queen’s University). Her current studio practice focuses on small-scale oil still lifes and landscapes grounded in direct observation. She paints simple subjects in a quiet style, inviting viewers to feel that spark of, “I know this object, this moment.” Ultimately, Sirove aims to grant familiar objects just enough significance to make them worthy of attending to.
