Sharin Barber

Born in Toronto, Canada, Sharin Barber has a passion for painting water and  the nature that surrounds her. Barber paints in her Leslieville studio in Toronto with her two Border Collies and works in oils with palette knives.

“Water some how feels so apart of me, not the thickness of it, all though sometimes that translates really well in oil paint. It's more the weight of it, I guess really it is the blood of the Earth.”

“I see water as a prisoner sometimes, it hitched a ride here on a asteroid then batched into the Earth on it’s rock to be released to the ground. Water remains here trapped by gravity. Water spends it’s time now circling the globe, being pulled by the Moon and the winds, it fights back with hurricanes and monsoons, is it hoping to be released back into space.”
