Laura Dick
Laura is a Toronto-based artist who is known for her bold contemporary florals painted in oil. She looks a little closer than most to study the shapes and forms of their petals and leaves. Her style is painterly realism, a mixture of soft, blended brushstrokes and carefully placed tightened edges. Her goal is to share with others the joy she feels when she paints them while celebrating their simple beauty.
Laura attended Ontario College of Art & Design (OCADU) earning a diploma in Graphic Design. She worked for several years as a package designer but now paints full-time at her home studio in the beaches area. She has participated in many groups shows and arts fairs such as The Artist Project and The Annual McMichael Gallery Art Show. Her paintings hang in private collections throughout Canada and the US.
