Maryam Ebrahimi

Soil and sky

18 x 48”

Acrylic on Canvas

$1700

Richmond Hill-based artist Maryam Ebrahimi’s latest collection “Fly Me Away” is a story about love, family, and isolation during a global pandemic. Each piece features feathered brush strokes that emerge from the canvas as birds, representing Maryam’s migration to Canada and a longing to see her family once more. Similar in shape to the first letter of the Farsi alphabet, the birds are a nod to her native tongue.

With over two decades of experience, she developed a unique style that captures the illusion of flow on an otherwise static canvas. Her goal is to make the viewers feel comfortable inside their homes as abstract art plays an important role in creating that perfect interior space where comfort and joy can ensue.
