Teodora Gales

Teodora was born in Constanța, on the Black Sea shore, in Romania's beautiful and multicultural Dobrogea region. She studied fine arts in high school and at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, specializing in graphics and printmaking.

Her work draws heavily on the long-established tradition of sequential art. She also finds inspiration, among many other things, in 19th-century book illustrations, 18th-century fashion, depth psychology, medieval illuminated manuscripts, film, music, poetry, costume design, foreign languages and ancient cultures.

Teodora worked as a visual merchandiser and window dresser for many years, and she enjoys creating whimsical seasonal displays filled with beauty, elegance, and magic.

In truth, she is a poet and philosopher at heart and loves to delight her soul with larger-than-life ideas.

Teodora currently resides in Toronto, and you can find most of her work online.
